Personality: Christine is a very happy person. She is a very nice and calm person. If someone doesn’t treat her well, she will not accept it. She is also a very strong and independent woman who knows what’s right and what’s wrong.
Looks: She is an African American. Dark-skinned young lady. She has long brown hair and she is skinny.
Life story/Racism and prejudice in her life: Christine is married to a guy named Cameron Thayer, he is also dark-skinned. So they do almost share the same life story. Just because of her skin-colour, she has been through some many things. I’m pretty sure that she has been treated in so many bad ways that she has got used to it now. I think Christine is a person that fights for her rights. When something very serious happens, she won’t let it go.
What she learned through the film: Through the film Christine learned a lot of things. For example about the human right and that she understood that her life is way more harder for an African American women compared to a white women.
If I’m taking an example from the scene when Christine and her husband got stopped by the cops. The cops investigated her, in private areas even though they had done nothing wrong. And of course she got mad and upset, and most of all she got sad just because her husband didn’t defend her in that situation.
The reason why he touched her in a humiliating way was just because of their skin-colors, also that the cop wanted to show his power as a cop. After this incident, Christine got into a bad car accident and when that happened the same police officer found her and also pulled her out of the car. Which also saved her life. And under that progress when he was going to save her she started to scream and shout just because it was the same cop that touched her in a humiliating way. But at the end he helped her out because she was so close to die. Under that dramatic scene I could see that she was shocked at the same time as she didn’t want to forgive him. Even though he saved her life.
Your thoughts and opinion about this person:I think that Christine is a clever person. Also that she stands for her rights and are fighting for it. One other thing that I really thought about is that Christine and her husband are both very rich compared to other African Americans in the US. And even though she is rich and has a very good job, she still gets stopped by the cops, just because of her skin-color. So it doesn’t matter if you are poor or rich. As long as you are dark-skinned you won’t get treated the same way as white people. And because of that I could see that Christine was a very strong person. She stands up for what’s right and shows that she’s a human too.
